Wetland Delineations

Wetlands play an important role in reducing floods, keeping our water clean and wildlife plentiful, among other functions. The DCSWCD provides fee-based services of a board-certified soil scientist to review sites and delineate wetlands using current U.S. Army Corps of Engineers criteria (1987 Wetlands Delineation Manual). Once wetland boundaries have been flagged, construction projects can be designed to avoid or minimize impacts to these areas.

Typical wetland data collected include those that define a wetland (hydric vegetation, soils and hydrology), plus site data relevant to regulatory permits.
